(a) As Diwan, the Company became the chief administrator of the territory under its control.
(b) After 1765 Company had to think of administering the land and organising its revenue resources.
(c) Before 1765, the Company purchased goods in India by importing huge quantities of grain from Britain.
(d) After 1765, the revenue collected in Bengal could finance the purchase of goods for export.

Note: the official key gives (3); statement (d) is also true as per the NCERT text, so this key looks doubtful. After becoming Diwan of Bengal in 1765 the Company became the chief (financial) administrator and had to organise land revenue, so (a) and (b) are correct; (c) is wrong because before 1765 the Company paid for Indian goods with gold and silver imported from Britain, not grain.नोट: आधिकारिक उत्तर कुंजी (3) देती है; NCERT पाठ के अनुसार कथन (d) भी सही है, इसलिए यह कुंजी संदिग्ध लगती है। 1765 में बंगाल का दीवान बनने के बाद कंपनी मुख्य (वित्तीय) प्रशासक बन गई और उसे भू-राजस्व की व्यवस्था करनी पड़ी, इसलिए (a) और (b) सही हैं; (c) गलत है क्योंकि 1765 से पहले कंपनी भारतीय वस्तुओं का भुगतान ब्रिटेन से लाए सोने-चाँदी से करती थी, अनाज से नहीं।
