Selaginella is heterosporous and its leaves have a small outgrowth called a ligule. Dryopteris is homosporous without ligules, and Pinus is a gymnosperm.सेलैजिनेला विषमबीजाणुक है और इसकी पत्तियों में लिगुल नामक छोटी वृद्धि होती है। ड्रायोप्टेरिस समबीजाणुक है और उसमें लिगुल नहीं होता, तथा पाइनस अनावृतबीजी है।
