A car moving with a speed of 50 km/hr can be stopped by brakes after covering 6 m. What would be the minimum stopping distance, if the car is moving at a speed of 100 km/hr?
  4. DMore than one of the above
  5. ENone of the above
Show answerHide answer

Correct answer: (A) 24 m24 मी॰

Explanation

With the same braking deceleration, stopping distance s = v²/(2a) is proportional to v². Doubling the speed makes the distance 2² = 4 times, i.e. 4 × 6 m = 24 m.
